Overview

Workshop’s mission is to help everyone discover what they want to do next in their careers. The best way to learn about jobs isn't from companies, teachers or parents: it's from the people who have those jobs today. We find these people and bring you their anonymized stories, giving you the most insightful look at life in jobs ever, for free.

Here’s how we do it: we recruit mentors to journal about their careers (what typical days are like, projects they work on, how they got to where they are, etc.). Then, our writers turn these journals into anonymized, engaging short stories that offer the most honest and insightful look at jobs ever. The stories are short (5-10mins long) and super honest, allowing you to see what they see, feel what they feel, and hear their inner thoughts. Users say this is the most humanized look at jobs they've ever seen. The product is currently in beta and will be released later this year.

We are looking to hire a writer to produce written stories for our mobile app. Each story you write will be based on a journal we’ve received from one of our mentors. Following our unique mobile-optimized formula, you will turn these journals into enjoyable short stories that help our users experience what it’s really like to be in the mentor’s job. Since all of these stories are available for free to users, your work will help tons of people discover and prepare for what they want to do next in their careers.

While we’re in beta for the next few months, you will be retrieving journals from SurveyMonkey and submitting your polished stories in Google Docs. Once we launch later this year, you will publish stories via our in-house publishing web app.
